GREENVILLE, S.C. – The National Christian College Athletic Association announced on Tuesday, Nov. 6 that two Olivet Nazarene University athletes were selected as their National Student-Athlete of the Week for their respective sports. Freshman Katherine Dean was recognized for her efforts on the Tiger’s cross country team, while junior Andrew Muzljakovich was recognized for football.
Dean of Lindenhurst, Ill., recorded a personal best time of 17:38.3 to help the Tigers capture their third straight Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) title on Saturday, Nov. 3. Dean has been an instrumental part of the Tiger’s success though out the season. Olivet has been in the top four of the NAIA Coach’s Poll all season and will travel to Vancouver, Washington for the National Championships on Saturday, Nov. 17.
Muzljakovich, a Vicksburg, Mich. native, proved once again he is good in clutch situations, kicking the game winning 42- yard field goal with one second to go in the Tiger’s Homecoming win over Trinity International University on Saturday, Nov. 3. He finished the afternoon a perfect 2-for-2 in field goal attempts and 5-for-5 in point after attempts. He added three punts for 122 yards and eight kick-offs for 427 yards, all with zero returns.
