Senior Kortney Ellingboe finished 3rd in the 5000m run, earning All-American honors.
GENEVA, Ohio - The Olivet Nazarene University indoor track and field team left the the SPIRE Institute, the host site of the 2013 NAIA Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field National Championships with its most success showing in program history. Corporately, the Tigers left with three All-American relay teams and six individual All-Americans, while setting four new school records. The women's team finished 28th out of 51 participating institutions.
The highest finish for Olivet, men's or women's, was senior Kortney Ellingboe (Hamilton, Ill.).
Ellingboe won the bronze medel while setting the school record in the 5000m run when she crossed the finish line in 17:30.02.
The 4x400m relay team of sophomore Kamaria Goedhard (Rochester, Minn.),
sophomore Alexandra Ortiz (Ottawan, Ill.),
freshman Kalla Gold (Eureka, Ill.)
and junior anchor Rachel Carman (Keokuk, Iowa)
caputred a seventh place fininsh and earn All-American
The Tigers finished in 28th place overall with eight points. Oklahoma Baptist University swept the men's and women's championships with OBU's women finishing with 113 points and second place Illinois Tech with 87. Olivet will take about a month off from competing and switch to outdoor track and field. The Tigers will begin competition on April 5 at the Chicagolands Invitational in Joliet, Ill.
