Olivet leads NAIA with 19 Scholar-Teams

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that 898 programs have been named 2012-13 NAIA Scholar-Teams.
Olivet Nazarene University led all schools with 19 programs honored, including: Baseball (3.18), Basketball Men's - Division II (3.14), Basketball Women's - Division II (3.38), Cross Country Men's (3.37), Cross Country Women's (3.54), Golf Men's (3.35), Golf Women's (3.50), Indoor Track & Field Men's (3.16), Indoor Track & Field Women's (3.42), Outdoor Track & Field Men's (3.12), Outdoor Track & Field Women's (3.42), Soccer Men's (3.29), Soccer Women's (3.26), Softball (3.34), Swimming & Diving Women's (3.21), Swimming & Diving Men's (3.24), Tennis Men's (3.38), Tennis Women's (3.15) and Volleyball (3.23).
For a team to be considered for the NAIA Scholar-Team award, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade-point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.
