BOURBONNAIS, Ill. — NCCAA World Series qualifier Olivet Nazarene University had six Tigers named to the All-NCCAA North Central Region team. Of the 16 spots, Olivet claimed six — the second most of any team — and all were first-time selections. In addition, Dan Schneider (West Salem, Wis.) was named Co-Player of the Year for the region, along with Cameron Balough from Judson University (Ill.). He is the first Tiger to earn the award since Chris Hammett in 2011.

The six members of the All-NCCAA North Central Region that represented ONU, voted on by the school's head coaches, are: Ben Heller (Whitewater, Wis.); Dan Schneider; Justin Fahy (Fargo, N.D.)Ryan Kern (Bloomington, Ill.); Adrian Perez (Chicago, Ill.); and Matt Davenport (Swayzee, Ind.). The region awards four starting pitchers, four outfielders, five infielders, two catchers, one utility, a player of the year and coach of the year.

Senior starter Ben Heller has been named to his first All-NCCAA North Central Region Team. Heller appeared in 16 games and finished with an 8-3 record (team-high wins, led region). He started 12 games and threw four complete games with one shutout. He pitched a total of 75 2/3 innings (led region) and had a 3.45 ERA. He allowed 66 hits, 45 runs (29 earned), 34 walks and had 74 strikeouts (led team, first in region).

Senior centerfielder Dan Schneider has been named to his first All-NCCAA North Central Region Team. Schneider started 41 of 48 games. He batted .432 (led team, region) (148 at-bats) with 64 hits (led team), 11 doubles, three triples and three home runs. He also had 27 walks, 48 runs, 90 total bases, 37 RBIs and 31 stolen bases. He finished with a .608 slugging percentage and .514 OBP (led team, region), and had 87 putouts with a .989 fielding percentage (led region).

Senior leftfielder Justin Fahy has been named to his first All-NCCAA North Central Region Team. Fahy started all 51 games. He batted .368 (174 at-bats) with 64 hits, 11 doubles and two triples. He also had 28 walks, 52 runs, 79 total bases, 25 RBIs and 43 stolen bases. He finished with a .454 slugging percentage and .459 OBP, and had 57 putouts with a .952 fielding percentage. Fahy led the team in hits, runs (led region) and stolen bases (led region).

Senior first baseman Ryan Kern has been named to his first All-NCCAA North Central Region Team. Kern started all 51 games. He batted .314 (172 at-bats) with 54 hits, 15 doubles, four triples and 12 home runs. He also had 24 walks, 44 runs, 113 total bases, 58 RBIs (led team, region) and nine stolen bases. He finished with a .657 slugging percentage and .410 OBP, and had 416 putouts with a .987 fielding percentage. Kern led the team in doubles, triples, home runs (led region), slugging and putouts.

Senior shortstop Adrian Perez has been named to his first All-NCCAA North Central Region Team. Perez started all 51 games. He batted .328 (174 at-bats) with 57 hits, 11 doubles, one triple and one home run. He also had 21 walks, 42 runs, 73 total bases, 41 RBIs and 14 stolen bases. He finished with a .420 slugging percentage and .401 OBP, and had 143 assists with a .934 fielding percentage. Perez led the team in at-bats, sac flies, assists, was second in doubles and was third in stolen bases.

Senior catcher Matt Davenport has been named to his first All-NCCAA North Central Region Team. Davenport started 48 of 50 games. He batted .343 (137 at-bats) with 47 hits, eight doubles and eight home runs. He also had 31 walks, 27 runs, 79 total bases and 41 RBIs. He finished with a .577 slugging percentage and .466 OBP, and had 101 putouts with a .962 fielding percentage. Davenport led the team in walks, and was second in home runs and RBIs.
