Olivet Nazarene University sophomore defensive end Myles Toney (Dolton, Ill.) earned Mid-States Football Association Midwest League Defense Player of the Week honors for the first time of his career following the Tigers first win of the season.
In a 20-14, triple overtime win over Siena Heights University (Mich.) on Oct. 6, Toney led the Tigers with nine tackles (five solo), three sacks for 15 yards, and three tackles for loss (15 yards).
Toney is fourth on the team in tackles (22), second in tackles for loss (7, 28 yards), and leads the team in sacks (5, 26 yards). He also has one fumble recovery after starting five of the six games for the Tigers.
