On August 29, the annual Fred Mitchell Watch List for collegiate place-kickers was announced. Olivet Nazarene University's own Andrew Muzljakovich (Vicksburg, Mich.) was named the lone representative for the NAIA among 32 others on the list.

Senior placekicker/punter Muzljakovich was selected to the Mid-States Midwest Second Team Offense and Second Team Defense in 2012. He started all 11 games and led the team in scoring with 64 points. He finished with 16 made field goals (16-23) with a career-long of 45 yards against William Penn University (Iowa) on Sept. 29. He converted 16 of 18 PATs and broke the school record for made and attempted field goals in a season, set back in 2005 and 2007.

Also with four made and attempted field goals against Waldorf College, he tied the school record that was set in 1998. He had 42 kickoffs for 2,485 yards (59.2 avg.) and 18 touchbacks. He finished with 65 punts for 2,481 yards (38.2 avg.) and a long of 82 yards, a new school record. He was named MSFA Midwest League Special Teams Player of the Week four times during the season.

He was also a 2012 Fred Mitchell Award Finalist. He has served as an Orphan Outreach volunteer, including on a mission trip to Guatemala to help the children at orphanages celebrate Christmas. He also collected food door-to-door for a local food pantry, and helped remodel a local home and improve the landscaping for the school’s Habitat for Humanity project.

The Watch List for the Fred Mitchell Award includes 33 Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), Division II, III, National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) collegiate place-kickers who were nominated by their colleges for excellence on the football field and in the community.

The Award’s Selection Committee Chairman Chris Kearney said, “These place-kickers are terrific on the football field and off the field, representing their schools, their football teams, their conferences, their communities, their families and themselves. We look forward to following their accomplishments during the next few months.”

The Watch List includes place-kickers from more than 750 eligible colleges.

Fred Mitchell said, “It is a pleasure to include these fine young men on the Watch List for this Award. We are delighted to recognize them based on outstanding performance in the community and expectations going

into the 2013 college football season. It is also a thrill to see so many familiar names on the Watch List, including 17 finalists and three place-kickers who were among the ten for the Award last season.”

The breakdown of the 33 place-kickers is as follows:

• Collegiate Division – 8 FCS, 12 Division II, 11 Division III, 1 NAIA and 1 NJCAA

• State – The place-kickers play at schools located in 17 different states.
