Point guard Troy Swindle joins Ralph Hodge and ONU men's basketball team for 2013-14 season

Head Coach Ralph Hodge and the Olivet Nazarene University men's basketball program welcome the third member to the 2013 recruiting class: Troy Swindle, a 6-foot-2 point guard from Lindenhurst, Ill. He played at Lakes Community High School and finished a great prep career in March.

Troy had a great high school career, highlighted by this year's all-conference honorable mention and Daily Herald All-Area honorable mention selections. Troy also was named to the Lake County All-Star game following his senior season.

He led his team to a school best overall 24-7 record and to back-to-back 3A IHSA Sectional appearances.

As a senior, Troy averaged 10.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and finished his career ranked in the top ten in assists and steals in his school’s history.


At Olivet, Swindle will be asked to play the point guard position.

Swindle joins Abraham Barwegen (Vicksburg, Mich.) and Ryan Carl (Galesburg ,Ill.) as part of the Tigers' 2013 recruiting class.


Currently, he has a 3.63 GPA and was nominated for the National Honor Society. He will study business while at Olivet. 

Troy was also part of the track and field team at Lakes Community. He was an IHSA 2A state finalist in the high jump.

He and his family attend Christ Community Church of St. Charles, Ill. Also, Troy’s brother, Tyler, is a current member of ONU’s football team.
