The Olivet Nazarene University men's basketball team and
Head Coach Ralph Hodge have signed
their newest member to the 2014-15 recruiting class. Tiger basketball welcomes an
athletic big man in Josiah Blan, a
6’8” forward from Minooka, Illinois. He played for Families of Faith Christian
Academy (Channahon, Illinois) and finished his prep career in March 2014.
During his senior season, the Eagles finished second in the South Shore Christian Conference. During an
outstanding senior campaign, Blan scored a career-high 63 points, grabbed 26
rebounds, recorded nine assists and had a career-high eight blocks.
Following the 2013-14 season, Blan was selected to the South
Shore Christian All-Conference First Team and was honored as the Calumet
Tournament MVP. He finished his career with 2,060 points (school record), as
the leading rebounder in school history, and with the highest field goal
percentage in FOFCA history. He also placed second in the conference dunk
In addition to his career at FOFCA, Blan played with Chicago Old Gold, Illinois Ambush and Illinois Elite
as a member of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). He traveled with his team
throughout the Midwest.
While in high school, Blan also played baseball, batting
.405 during his senior season.
