Solanke played in 52 games with Stetson from 2012-2014

BOURBONNAIS, Illinois — The Olivet Nazarene University men's basketball team and Head Coach Ralph Hodge have signed their newest member to the 2014-15 recruiting class. Tiger basketball welcomes an athletic, versatile presence in Leke Solanke, a 6’6” forward from Abeokuta, Nigeria. He is transferring from NCAA Division I, Stetson University (Florida) after two years with the Hatters. Solanke played for Michigan City Marquette (Indiana) during his prep career.

During his career with Stetson in the Atlantic Sun Conference, he played in 52 games. He shot 52.2 percent from the field and 57 percent from the free-throw line. He shot 70 percent from the field his freshman season and finished with 14 blocks between both seasons, nine in his sophomore campaign (third on the team). Solanke competed against the likes of University of Miami (Florida), Clemson University (South Carolina), and University of Notre Dame (Indiana.) during his time with Stetson.

During his senior season at Michigan City Marquette, he averaged seven points and six rebounds, earning North West Indiana All-Star honors.

In addition to his career at Michigan City Marquette, Solanke played with the Indiana Dawgs and Indy Species Heat as a member of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). He traveled with his team throughout the Midwest.

While in high school, Solanke also played soccer, earning team Defensive Player of the Year honors.

He attends Calvary Church in Valparaiso, Indiana. He will be a communications major while at Olivet.
