CHANNAHON, Ill. — With two goals in mind going into the 2012 CCAC Championship meet, the Olivet Nazarene University men's cross country team came out accomplishing much. On Saturday, Nov. 3 at Channahon Park in Channahon, Ill. The Tigers finished second earning their way to their eighth appearance and sixth straight to the national meet in program history.
The Tigers bested 10 other teams in the eight-kilometer race and placed their top five runners among the top 20 out of 115 competitors.
The Tigers were led by Nicholas Mizeur (Moline, Ill.) who came in sixth with a time of 24:59 Marshall Hawn (Goshen, Ind.), who finished 15th with a time of 25 minutes, 33 seconds. Kasey Ferrigan (Dixon, Ill.) came in 16th with a time of 25:34, while Ron Milbocker (Whitmore Lake, Mich.) finished 19th in 25:43. Daniel Wells (Danville, Ill.) finished 20th with a time of 25:51.
James Fisher (Wales, Mich.) finished 22nd with a time of 25:53 and Zach Bozman (LeClaire, Iowa) finished 23rd with a time of 25:55.
The University of St. Francis (Ill.) finished won their third straight CCAC Championship, while St. Xavier University (Ill.) took third, Robert Morris University (Ill.) claimed fourth, and Trinity Christian College (Ill.) finished fifth.
The Tigers will be off for another week before traveling to the NAIA National Championships in Vancouver, Wash. The race is hosted by Concordia University-Oregon at Fort Vancouver Historical Site on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 11:45 a.m. (PST).
