BOURBONNAIS, Ill. — For the second straight week, the No. 12-ranked Olivet Nazarene University men’s cross country team hosted a meet. For the second week in a row, they won. On Friday, Sept. 13, the Tigers hosted
the Illinois Intercollegiate for the first time at Aspen Ridge Golf Course. ONU
bested 17 other teams, and had five runners in the top 15 and seven in the top
20. A total of 189 runners competed in the 8k race.
The Tigers were led by junior Ethan Gallagher (Parsippany, N.J.) who finished fourth (25:01.7). Junior
Mitchell Dale (Rochester Hills, Mich.)
came in 11th at 25:23.0. Junior Ian
Lofgren (Rockford, Ill.) ran 25:29.20 to finish 13th. Sophomore Dylan Creger (Almont, Mich.) finished
14th with a time of 25:31.0. Freshman Caleb Drake (Rock Island, Ill.) came in 15th with a time
Junior Marshall Hawn
(Goshen, Ind.) finished 17th with a time of 25:44.60, and senior Daniel Wells (Danville, Ill.) ran
25:47.80 to finish 20th.
In all, 15 Tigers ran in the team's second race of the 2013
NCAA Division II Lewis University (Ill.) finished second, North
Central College (Ill.) came in third, University of Chicago (Ill.) came
in fourth, and Augustana College (Ill.) rounded out the top five.
The Tigers will participate in a junior varsity meet on
Friday, September 27, at 5:45 p.m. for the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational at Saukie
Golf Course in Rock Island, Ill., hosted by Augustana. The varsity team
will run that day in the Roy Griak Invitational in St. Paul, Minn., at the Les Bolstad
Golf Course, hosted by the University of Minnesota at 11:30 a.m.
