Senior Caleb Bernhardt helped ONU to a 10th-place finish, coming in 100th overall at the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — After a week off from competition, over half
of Olivet Nazarene University’s men’s cross country took to the start line for
the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational. The meet was hosted by Augustana College
(Ill.) in Rock Island, Ill. on Friday, Sept. 27. ONU bested 25 other teams and
had six runners in the top 100. A total of 491 runners competed in the 8k race.
Senior Nic Mizeur (Moline,
Ill.) led the Tigers with a 29th place finish (26:11.9).
Freshman Jason Reynolds (Rockford, Ill.)
came in second for the Tigers and finished 45th overall with a
time of 26:27.8. Freshman River Gordon (Arden, N.C.) came in 83rd
overall with a time of 27:12.9. Zach
Bozman (LeClaire, Iowa) finished with a time of 27:16.2, coming in 88th
overall. Freshman Reagen Dykhouse
(Stamford, Conn.) finished 95th with at time of 27:28.4.
Bernhardt (Green Bay, Wis.) finished 100th with a final time of
27:42.8, and sophomore Matthew Dixon
(Chebanse, Ill.) finished 104th with a time of 27:48.2.
In all, 21 Tigers ran in the team's third race of the 2013
The University of Chicago (Ill.) won the event, Augustana
College (Ill.) came in second, Loras College (Ill.) came in third and Grinnell
College (Iowa) came in fourth.
The Tigers will participate in the NAIA Great Lakes
Invite, hosted by Aquinas College (Mich.) on Saturday, Oct. 12. The meet will be
run in Grand Rapids, Mich. at Riverside Park starting at 11:15 a.m.
