DAVENPORT, Iowa — The No. 13-ranked Olivet Nazarene
University men’s cross country team did something that is unheard of on Saturday, October 12 when they placed
their top seven runners in order from one through seven. The Tigers competed in the Fighting Bee Invite hosted by St. Ambrose University (Iowa) at Crow Creek Park. Out of 12 teams, Olivet finished the race in first place, the third time in four
races this season they have finished first.
Gallagher (Parsippany, N.J.) won the event with a time of 25:36. Freshman Caleb Drake (Rock Island, Ill.) came in
second with a time of 25:46. Junior Mitchell
Dale (Rochester Hills, Mich.) finished third with a time of 25:54. Junior Ian
Lofgren (Rockford, Ill.) ran 25:55 to finish fourth, and freshman Jason Reynolds (Rockford, Ill.) ran
26:08 to round out the top five for ONU.
Senior Nic Mizeur (Moline,
Ill.) finished sixth with a time of 26:15, and senior Daniel Wells (Danville, Ill.) ran 26:17 to finish seventh.
In all, 28 Tigers ran in the team's fourth race of the 2013
North Iowa Area Community College finished second, St.
Ambrose University (Iowa) came in third, St. Joseph’s College of Indiana
finished fourth, and Roosevelt University (Ill.) came in fifth.
ONU will participate in the NAIA Great Lakes Invite, hosted
by Aquinas College (Mich.) on Saturday, Oct. 26. The meet will be run in Grand
Rapids, Mich., at Riverside Park starting at 11:15 a.m.
