Olivet plays stiff competition at Augustana Invitational, finishes 15th

MILAN, Ill. — For the fourth time in 10 days, the Olivet Nazarene University men’s golf team took to the links in competition against a variety of NAIA, NCAA and community college schools. On Friday and Saturday, April 12 and 13, the Tigers played in the Augustana College (Ill.) Invitational at Pinnacle Country Club.

The Tigers finished with a 36-hole score of 679 (+103) on the 6870-yard, par-72 course. The Tigers' 15th place finish was out of 20 teams, competing against a total of 115 golfers.

Indian Hills Community College finished first with a score of 593 (+17). Illinois Wesleyan took second with a score of 600 (+24). Carthage College (Wis.) finished third with a score of 617 (+41).

Sophomore Michael Bork (Rapid City, Mich.) led the way for ONU with a two-day score of 165 (79-86, +21) and finished tied for 50th. Senior Aaron Miles (Holt, Mich.) finished tied for 64th with a 167 (84-83, +23). Freshman Ryan Muzljakovich (Vicksburg, Mich.) finished tied for 89th with 174 (89-85, +30). Freshman Robert Wagner (Bethel, Ohio) finished tied for 89th with a 174 (91-83, +30), and freshman Ethan Drooger (Holland, Mich.) finished with a 181 (90-91, +37), tied for 103rd.

The Tigers will be back on the course for the Purdue University-North Central (Ind.) Spring Shootout on Monday, April 15, at Briar Leaf Golf Club in LaPorte, Ind.
