Karraker among five Tigers who finish in top 20 at PUNC Spring Shootout

LAPORTE, Ind. — With one final opportunity to compete before the conference championship tournament, the Olivet Nazarene University men’s golf team played in the Purdue University-North Central (Ind.) Spring Shootout. The Tigers had five golfers finish in the top 20 among more than 40 golfers.

Nine Tiger golfers participated in the 18-hole one-day individually scored event, played at Briar Leaf Golf Club in LaPorte, Ind. A total of 41 golfers played at the par-72, 6850-yard course in northwest Indiana.

There were seven other schools represented, including six from the CCAC. St. Xavier University (Ill.), Calumet-St. Joseph (Ind.), Holy Cross College (Ind.), Purdue-North Central (Ind.), Goshen College (Ind.), Purdue-Calumet (Ind.) and Robert Morris University (Ill.) participated in the one-day event.

Junior Tyler Karraker (Bourbonnais, Ill.) led the Tigers with a 78 (+6), finishing 11th. Freshman Ethan Drooger (Holland, Mich.), sophomore Michael Bork (Rapid City, Mich.), and senior Aaron Miles (Holt, Mich.) tied for 12th after each shooting a 79 (+7). Senior Kyle Huber (Grand Blanc, Mich.) shot an 80 (+8) and finished tied for 18th.  Freshman Robert Wagner (Bethel, Ohio) finished tied for 26th with an 84 (+12). Freshman Ryan Muzljakovich (Vicksburg, Mich.) finished tied for 33rd with an 89 (+15). Sophomore Cameron Mason (Anderson, Ind.) shot a 95 (+23) to finish 38th, and junior Darin LaMont (Crawfordsville, Ind.) finished 41st with a 98 (+26).  

The Tigers will finish regular season play with the CCAC Championships on Monday and Tuesday, April 22 and 23.
