HAMMOND, Ind. — On Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 16 and 17, the
Olivet Nazarene University men’s golf team competed in the Mike Lalaeff Memorial
Invitational, hosted by Purdue University-Calumet (Ind.). ONU placed in the top half of the teams represented, tied for eighth among 16 schools.
The Tigers participated in the 36-hole, two-day event,
played at Lost Marsh Golf Course in Hammond, Ind. A total of 87 golfers played
at the par-72, 6,803-yard course.
With 15 other schools represented, fellow CCAC
school, St. Xavier University (Ill.), won the event with a 601 (+25). Carthage
College (Wis.) came in second with a 621 (+45), and Owens Community College
(Ohio) came in third with a 622 (+46).
Junior Michael Bork
(Rapid City, Mich.) (77-79, +14) led the Tigers with a 156, tied
for 10th. Robert Wagner (Bethel,
Ohio) shot a 162 (85-77, +20) and finished tied for 30th. Freshman Cole Evenson (Princeton, Ill.) tied for 49th with a 167 (81-86, +25). Sophomore Ethan Drooger (Holland, Mich.) (85-86,
+29) tied for 58th after each shooting a 171. Sophomore Ryan Muzljakovich (Vicksburg, Mich.) finished
with a 173 (91-82 +31), tied for 63rd.
The Tigers play next Thursday, Sept. 26, at the Olivet
Nazarene University Fall Invite. The one-day event will be played at Balmoral
Country Club in Crete, Ill., starting at 9 a.m.
