ADA, Mich. — Following their best finish of the fall season,
the Olivet Nazarene University men’s golf team played one of the longest courses
they will play all year. ONU participated in the Taylor University (Ind.) Fall
Invitational played at the Egypt Valley Country Club. The Tigers finished sixth
of eight teams.
total of 55 golfers played in the 36-hole, two-day event at the par-72, 7,111-yard course. With seven other schools represented, fellow CCAC school
Holy Cross College (Ind.) won with a 606 (+30). Taylor University
(Ind.) and Wheaton College (Ill.) came in second with a 612 (+36). Bethel
College (Ind.) and Ohio Northern University finished fourth with a 623 (+47).
Junior Michael Bork (Rapid
City, Mich.) finished 21st with a 159 (78-81, +15). Sophomore
Ryan Muzljakovich (Vicksburg, Mich.)
finished 29th with a 163 (82-81, +19). Freshman Cole
Evenson (Princeton, Ill.) finished 43rd with a 172 (82-90, +28). Freshman Jordan Spay (Bettendorf, Iowa) came in
tied for 44th, shooting a 173 (88-85, +29). Sophomore Robert Wagner (Bethel, Ohio) shot a 174 (90-84, +30) to finish
tied for 46th.
ONU will be on the course again Monday and Tuesday, Oct.
14 and 15, at the NAIA Midwest Fall Classic hosted by St. Ambrose University (Iowa).
The two-day event will be played at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill.
