BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. —  Sophomore forward Todd Bevan (Schererville, Ind.) scored a career-high three goals in the Olivet Nazarene University men's soccer team's 5-0 win over Roosevelt University (Ill.) on Tuesday, Sept. 25.

In its first Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference win of the season, Olivet (5-2-2, 1-0-1) didn’t waste time getting on the scoreboard. Paddy Hoepp (Frankfurt, Germany) scored his first goal of the year on a penalty kick in the fifth minute. Ten minutes later, Bevan recorded his first goal. He was assisted by Elliot Totsch (Oswego, Ill.) and Logan Engelkes (Winnebago, Ill.).

With nine minutes remaining before halftime, Robby Gunderson (Downers Grove, Ill.) scored his third goal of the year to put ONU up 3-0. He was assisted by freshman Brett Robertson (Monee, Ill.).

In the second half, the Tigers continued to take it at the Lakers (1-5-3, 0-2). Bevan made the score 4-0 on a goal assisted by Kyle Reopelle (Elgin, Ill.). Bevan finished his hat trick at the 52:15 mark, when he was assisted on his third goal by Engelkes. The play marked Bevan's fifth goal of the year and Engelkes’ seventh assist of the season.

The Tigers came away with 25 shots compared to Roosevelt’s six, including 11 on goal for ONU. Freshman keeper Zach Chambers (Flanders, N.J.) finished with two saves and his first career shutout.

Olivet continues conference play at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, with a road game against Cardinal Stritch University (Wis.).
