Moving into his second season, Head Coach David Blahnik of ONU men's soccer announces 14 new additions to an already strong Tiger squad. In 2012, ONU made the NAIA National Tournament and advanced past the opening round for the first time in program history. 

Aaron Chatfield comes to ONU from Northern Michigan Christian Academy in Burt Lake, Mich. He is an attacking player who is the all-time leading goal scorer in the state of Michigan and fourth on the National Federation of State High School Associations team for career goals with 201 career high school goals. He was selected as a member of the Michigan Dream Team and was one of only four players in the state named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-American All-Regional IV team. He plays club soccer with the Petoskey Lakers. He is undecided on his major at ONU.

Paul Chatfield is an attacking player who came to ONU as a transfer after spending his first semester at Northland International University. He played high school soccer at Northern Michigan Christian Academy in Burt Lake, Mich. While at NMCA, he scored 109 goals, had 89 assists and was named All-State three times. He played club soccer for the Petoskey Lakers. He is currently studying ministerial missions and philosophy at ONU.

Miguel Fierro comes to ONU from Urbana High School in Urbana, Ill. He is a midfielder who helped lead his team to an Illinois State Runner-Up finish. In his senior season, he scored 21 goals, had 13 assists and was named Area Player of the Year, All-Area First Team, All-State, All-Conference and team MVP. He plays club soccer with Illinois FC. He plans to major in communications at ONU.

Wil Lovitt is a defender who came to ONU as a transfer after spending his first semester at Northland International University. He played high school soccer at Northern Michigan Christian Academy in Burt Lake, Mich. He played club soccer for the Petoskey Lakers. He is currently majoring in math education at ONU.  

Kevin Stuitje comes to ONU from Christian Central Academy in Lockport, N.Y. He is a goalkeeper who helped lead his team to a Conference Championship in his senior season. He had a career 1.1 Goals Against Average, 23 shutouts, and was a three-time team MVP and three-time All-Conference selection. He plays club soccer with Empire United. He plans to major in exercise science at ONU.  

Ryan Totsch comes to ONU from Oswego High School in Oswego, Ill. He is a midfielder/defender and was a two-time team captain and an All-Conference selection. He plays club soccer with the Chicago Magic and was part of their National Championship qualifying team. He plans to engineering at ONU.  

Keefer Whaley comes to ONU from Conifer, Colo., where he was homeschooled. He is an attacking player who scored eight goals and had six assists in his senior season. He was also an All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-State selection. He plays club soccer with the Colorado Rush. He plans to be a business major at ONU.

Matheus Guimaraes comes to ONU from FunBBe High School in Barra Bonita, Sao Paulo, Brazil. He spent a year playing high school soccer at Northern Michigan Christian Academy in Burt Lake, Mich. While at NMCA, he played midfield and was an All-Conference selection. He plans to major in international business at ONU.

David Domagalski comes to ONU from Centennial High School in Champaign, Ill. He is a defender who was a team captain and was part of teams that were Elite Eight Champions, Super Sectional Champions and Regional Champions. He plays club soccer with Illinois FC. He plans to study business management and criminal justice at ONU.

Drew Cary comes to ONU from Grand Haven High School in Grand Haven, Mich. He is an attacking player who plays club soccer with the Strikers. He plans to major in social work at ONU.

Jonathan Harman comes to ONU from Heritage Christian High School in Cumberland, Ind. He is a goalkeeper who plays club soccer with FC Pride. He plans to major in youth ministry at ONU.

Brent Mollema comes to ONU from Illiana Christian High School and is from Cedar Lake, Ind. He is a defender who was voted defensive MVP for a team that won the Regional Championship. He plans to study accounting at ONU.

Matt Mollema comes to ONU from Illiana Christian High School and is from Cedar Lake, Ind. He is a midfielder for a team that won the Regional Championship. He plans to study accounting at ONU.

Mike Fiene comes to ONU from Illiana Christian High School and is from Dyer, Ind. He is an attacking player for a team that won the Regional Championship. He is undecided on his major at ONU.

Coach Blahnik’s comments on this recruiting class: "The other coaches and I are very excited about this year’s recruiting class. The amount of talent that is coming in is very high. But most importantly, they are all high character men who strive to do well in the classroom as well. I have no doubt that they will represent Olivet in a great way. Adding these new faces to a great group of returning guys makes me confident that ONU men’s soccer has a bright future."
