CHICAGO --- Olivet Nazarene University's Zach Chambers
(Flanders, N.J.) claimed his fourth Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference
Men's Soccer Player of the Week honor in 2013, while teammate Paddy Hoepp
(Frankfurt, Germany) earned his first when the weekly awards were announced on
Tuesday by the league office.
Chambers, a sophomore goalkeeper, garnered the defensive
plaudits after allowing only one goal over two games and securing his sixth
shutout of the season. He stopped six
shots on goal in a 6-0 victory over University of St. Francis to close out the
regular season on Tuesday (Nov. 5) and followed that effort up with four more
saves in a 2-1 conference tournament-opening nod over Calumet College of St.
Joseph on Saturday (Nov. 9).
Hoepp, a junior midfielder, was named the league's Offensive
Player of the Week after accounting for half of his team's offense with his two
goals and two assists in the Tigers' pair of wins. Hoepp had a big game against St. Francis
delivering two goals and one assist before adding another assist in the win
over Calumet St. Joseph.
Olivet Nazarene, which advanced to the semifinal round of
the CCAC Tournament with its win on Saturday, is now 13-5-1 on the season.
