Tigers lose season opener to Lee 2-0

Cleveland, Tenn. – The Olivet Nazarene University men's soccer team kicked off its 2012 season at the Lee University Tournament, where the Tigers battled but ultimately fell 2-0 to the host team on Friday, Aug. 31.

Lee (1-0) struck early when Sias Reyneke scored on a cross by Sebastian Vallejo 7:14 into the first half. The Flames scored again early in the second half when Josh Ball headed it in from close range, assisted by Reyneke, to make the score 2-0.

Sophomore Robby Grunderson (Downers Grove, Ill.) had two shots to lead the Tigers, while freshman goalie Zach Chambers (Flanders, N.J.) had three saves.  

The Tigers resume tournament play Sept. 1, against Montreat College (N.C.).
