Tourbeau Sports Group
(TSG) announces that Olivet's men’s soccer team will be featured in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s (NSCAA) National Game of the Week
on Monday, September 2, 2013, at 5 p.m. The team will be playing at Olivet against the University of Northwestern Ohio. NSCAA will broadcast this game on the new NSCAATV.COM
network using multiple camera angles and professional broadcasters.
In its continued effort to grow the visibility and popularity of college soccer, the NSCAA is partnering with TSG for the promotion and presentation of this national live stream broadcast of the “Tourbeau's National Men's Soccer Game of the Week, presented by NSCAA and Admiral Soccer
.” The goal of these weekly broadcasts is to help promote the game and also the top NAIA teams.
Tiger men’s soccer team was selected based on the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) final season ranking of #17, NAIA Sweet 16 tournament appearance and being the reigning Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Tournament Champion.
Recently ranked ninth by the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA), in 2012 Olivet’s Tigers won the CCAC Tournament Championship for the second time in four seasons and advanced to the NAIA National Tournament. After defeating No. 8 Kansas Wesleyan University in overtime, the Tigers advanced to the second round of the tournament for the first time in program history. Head Coach David Blahnik led the Tigers to a 14-4-5 record in his first season and a third place finish in the CCAC regular season standings. This year, ONU returns five all-conference selections and 12 players total that started games in 2012.
NSCAATV.COM is televising games from around the country, ranging from professional leagues down to high school matches on NSCAATV.COM. A game of the week will feature NAIA and NCAA teams every week this fall. The 14-game broadcast schedule highlights teams from different NAIA conferences and every program nationally ranked in the Top 25 national polls or receiving votes from many past NAIA powerhouses.
