ROMEOVILLE, Ill. — On back-to-back days, the Tigers took the
court looking for the first win since February. On Thursday, they traveled to
NCAA Division II Lewis University (Ill.) for an afternoon match. They fell to
the No. 36-ranked Flyers 8-1, only managing one point in singles play.
The Tigers (3-10) were without their number one singles and
doubles player Julian Kurz (Stuttgart,
Germany). Senior Diego Gonsalvez
(San Luis Potosi, Mexico) battled in his number one singles match (6-2,
7-5). Senior Camilo Giraldo (Medellin,
Colombia) lost his match (6-4, 6-2). Peter
Jensen (Yuba City, Calif.) lost (6-0, 6-3). The only Tiger to manage a
point was Jordan Lingle (Fishers, Ind.).
The Tigers were unable to respond in doubles as they dropped
all three matches. Giraldo and Gonsalvez lost 8-3. Seth Perry (Jefferson, Ohio) and Peter Jensen lost 8-1, and Mat Bowden (Spring Arbor, Mich.) lost
ONU will be back in action on the road against Vincennes
University (Ind.) on Thursday, April 11, starting at 2 p.m.
