CHICAGO --- Olivet Nazarene University's Julian Kurz (Stuttgart, Germany) has claimed his second Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week award after posting a pair of wins during the seven-day period ending April 14, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday morning.
Kurz, a senior, helped lead the Tigers to an impressive 6-3 victory over Indiana Wesleyan University on Saturday. IWU came into the contest at 15-3 on the season. Kurz won his No. 1 doubles match, 8-2, with teammate Diego Gonsalvez before securing a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles.
Kurz also captured the league's first player of the week award back on March 13.
With his two wins this past week, Kurz is now 10-3 in singles play and 11-2 in doubles competition this season.
Olivet Nazarene bumped its record up to 4-10 on the season with the win over Indiana Wesleyan.
