the first point for the Tigers with a win over No. 2 Aaron Dial (6-1, 6-2). Juan Morales (Madrid, Spain) dropped his singles match to Laurent
Mailloux (6-0, 6-3) to give the Bulldogs (1-1) a 2-1 lead. Caio Barros (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) fell (6-2, 6-1) to No. 4 Otto
Keresztes. Peter Jensen (Yuba City,
Calif.) lost to Jose Calero (6-2,
6-1), while freshman Tyler Ellis (Danville,
Ill.) defeated A. Giacomazzi Serafim (7-6, 6-4).
Trailing 4-2 and needing three points in doubles play, ONU lost
all hope in the first match when the team of Veys and Mancineiras lost to Galarneau
and Dial 8-2. Morales and Barros fell to Mailloux and Keresztes 8-5 to give the
Bulldogs a 6-2 lead. The final point went to Justin Ecclestone and Will Huntington, who beat Jensen and Ellis 8-1.
ONU will be back in action on Thursday, February 20 at DePauw
University (Ind.) at 4:30 p.m. (EST).
