CHICAGO --- Earning a pair of doubles wins against ranked
teams and four victories overall during the week ending March 16, Olivet
Nazarene University's Oscar Cornella
(Lleida, Spain) has been named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic
Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the league office announced on
Cornella, a freshman, teamed up with Navarro Veys at No. 3
doubles to knock off NAIA No. 19 Warner's (Fla.) team of Daniel Mora and Vitor
Schepper, 9-7, on Tuesday and then paired up with Peter Jensen at No. 3 on
Friday to defeat NAIA No. 1 Embry-Riddle's (Fla.) combination of Miguel Lopez
Gomez and Juan Verberne, 9-8 (11-9). In
between, Cornella and Veys picked up an 8-4 win against Young Harris (Ga.),
also at No. 3. Cornella also won his No.
2 singles match that day, 6-2, 7-6 (7-2).
