Joe Reisinger broke the school record in the shot put at the Dr. Keeler Invite
NAPERVILLE, Ill. — With only two weeks before the NAIA
Outdoor National Meet, the Olivet Nazarene men’s track and field team competed
in the Dr. Keeler Invite at North Central College (Ill.). As always, the
Tigers provided excitement as senior Joe
Reisinger (Georgetown, Ill.) and sophomore Elisha
DeRamus (Harvey, Ill.) broke school records.
In the shot put, Joe Reisinger won the event with a throw of
17.36m and broke his own school record he set in 2012. He also went on to win
the discus with a mark of 46.25m. Elisha DeRamus won the long jump
while breaking his own school record (7.26m).
In the pole vault, Brian
Michell (Reed City, Mich.) finished on top with a jump of 4.91m, and Isaac Austin (Indianapolis, Ind.) jumped
4.66m to finish third. Lucas Limberg
(Rockford, Ill.) finished seventh in the high jump with a mark of 1.95m, and
Conner Stroud (Manteno, Ill.) came
in eighth at 1.95m. Freshman Delano
Harris-Samuels (Bourbonnais, Ill.) finished fourth (6.98m) in the long jump.
On the track, sophomore Jared
Carl (Galesburg, Ill.) finished sixth in the 200 meter dash (22.05). Daniel Wells (Danville, Ill.) came in
30th in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:03.59. Isaiah Fink (Ypsilanti, Mich.) finished
33rd in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:57.22.
ONU will be back in action on Friday, May 17, at the Augie
Twilight hosted by Augustana University (Ill.) in Rock Island, Ill. The meet
starts at 12 p.m.
