ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — One final meet stood between the Olivet
Nazarene University men’s track team and the NAIA national meet. However, the Tigers
did not take the Friday afternoon Augie Twilight lightly, winning four separate
events while only sending six athletes.
In the 1500m run, junior Ethan
Gallagher (Parsippany, N.J.) won with a time of 3:57.88. Isaac Austin (Indianapolis, Ind.) won
the pole vault with a mark of 4.95m, and Brian
Michell (Reed City, Mich.) came in fourth (4.70m). Sophomore Elisha DeRamus (Harvey, Ill.) won the long jump (7.12m) by .86
meters and the triple jump (13.64m) by 1.14 meters.
Joe Reisinger (Georgetown,
Ill.) finished seventh in the shot put (15.97m) and came in 12th
in the discus with a throw of 48.66m. Conner Stroud (Manteno, Ill.) competed
in the high jump but did not have a qualifying height in the finals.
ONU will finish the 2013 season on Thursday, May 23, through
Saturday, May 25, in the NAIA Outdoor National Championships. The meet will be held
at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind.
