MARION, Ind. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced Friday that 204 men’s track and field student-athletes have been named 2013 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Concordia (Neb.) and Nebraska Wesleyan lead all institutions with nine individuals each on the list.
In order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.
Representing the Olivet Nazarene University men's track and field team, seniors James Fisher (Wales, Mich.), Sam Pimpo (Antioch, Ill.),Brian Willoughby (Elkhart, Ind.), Kyle Boone (Dixon, Ill.), Matt Kearney (Marion, Iowa),Nicholas Mizeur (Moline, Ill.), and Jesse Stanford (Bolingbrook, Ill.). One junior honored was Daniel Wells (Danville, Ill.). Fisher, Pimpo, Willoughby, Boone, Kearney, and Mizeur have been named NAIA Scholar-Athletes for the second time.
