KENOSHA, Wis. — The Olivet Nazarene University men’s track
and field team competed in the Carthage Invite, Feb. 8. The Tigers finished
third of four teams scoring 63 points out of a possible 17 events.
ONU competed against North Central College (Ill.), Wheaton
College (Ill.), and the host school, Carthage College (Ill.).
Junior Jared Carl
(Galesburg, Ill.) won the men’s 55-meter dash with a time of 6.65 seconds. The 4x400
meter relay team finished fifth with a time of 3 minutes, 29.93 seconds. The team consisted of senior Rey Keys (Matteson, Ill.), freshman Alex Hunt (Eureka, Ill.), sophomore Austin Holton (Nampa, Idaho) and sophomore Josh Reel (Bourbonnais, Ill.).
Sophomore Elisha DeRamus
(Harvey, Ill.) finished second in the long jump with a finals mark of 6.78 meters. Junior Brian Michell (Reed City, Mich.)
came 19th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.43. Freshman Matthew Chupp (Mahomet, Ill.) finished sixth in the 400-meter dash
(51.89). Senior Brian Willoughby
(Elkhart, Ind.) came in fourth in the 800-meter run with a finals mark of
Senior Mitchell Dale
(Rochester Hills, Mich.) won the one-mile run with a time of 4:22.11.
Sophomore Brandon Divan (Oakwood, Ill.)
finished third in the 3000 meter run with a time of 8:59.54.
Senior Seth Wonch
(Olathe, Kan.) finished eighth in the weight throw with a final mark of 15.14 meters.
Sophomore Jacob Armbrust (Metamora,
Ill.) finished third in the shot put with a throw of 16.15 meters. Sophomore Chris Aschemann (Carterville, Ill.)
came in seventh in the shot put with a mark of 14.58 meters.
ONU will be back in action on Friday and Saturday, as it hosts the NCCAA Indoor National Championships.
