ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Following
a 13th-place finish at the NAIA Indoor Nationals, the Olivet Nazarene University
men’s track and field team was back in action to begin the outdoor season at
the Washington University-St. Louis (Mo.) Invite on Friday and Saturday, March 28 and 29. The Tigers finished 22nd of
The Tigers sent only a few athletes to the meet, and those athletes performed well in a field of outstanding teams. In the men’s hammer throw, Chris Aschemann (Carterville, Ill.) finished sixth out of 73 athletes with a
finals throw of 48.84. Seth Wonch
(Olathe, Kan.) came in 12th with a finals throws of 44.84. Marcus Reynolds (Green Bay, Wis.) threw
36.48 to finish 35th. Freshman Grant
Judson (Toledo, Ohio) finished 47th with a throw of 32.13, and Zach Fienhold (Chenoa, Ill.) also
Marcus Reynolds competed in the javelin throw with 55
other athletes and finished second with a throw of 53.83.
In the men’s 5000 meter run, senior Daniel Wells (Danville, Ill.) ran 15:27.10 to come in 49th. Jason Reynolds (Rockford, Ill.) came in
69th with a time of 15:39.59, and Brandon
Divan (Oakwood, Ill.) ran 15:46.20 to finish 75th out of 164 runners.
Out of 28 athletes in the men’s 10000 meter run, Dylan Creger (Almont, Mich.) finished 10th
(31:51.23), and Andrew Cowen (Carmel,
Ind.) came in 11th (31:56.65).
ONU will be back in action on Saturday, April 5, at 11 a.m. for the Greenville Select, hosted by Greenville College (Ill.).
