Outstanding performances make Tigers shine at Dr. Keeler Invite

NAPERVILLE, Ill. — Following a great outcome at the CCAC Championships and with only a couple of weeks prior to the NAIA National Championships, the Olivet Nazarene University men’s track and field team competed at the Dr. Keeler Invite at North Central College (Illinois).

The Tigers were great on the track starting with freshman Zach Gordon (Carol Stream, Illinois), who came in third in the 100 meter dash (10.89) and beat 45 other runners. Junior Jared Carl (Galesburg, Illinois) was eighth in the 200 meter dash with a finals finish of 21.89 and beat 59 other sprinters. Senior Ty’rel Fields (Huntsville, Alabama) finished third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 48.71 and beat 32 other sprinters.

Sophomore Isaiah Fink (Ypsilanti, Michigan) came in 32nd in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:56.63. Sophomore Ron Milbocker (Whitmore Lake, Michigan) came in 33rd in the 3000 meter run with a time of 15:51.45. Senior Andrew Cowen (Carmel , Indiana) finished 15th in the 10000 meter run with a time of 34.49.55. Junior Ian Lofgren (Rockford, Illinois) came in 18th in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:32.14. The 4x100 meter relay finished fifth with a time of 41.62.

On the field, Brian Michell (Reed City, Michigan) won the pole vault with a finals mark of 5.01 meters. In addition, junior Lucas Limberg (Rockford, Illinois) finished fourth in the high jump (1.97 meters), and sophomore Conner Stroud (Manteno, Illinois) came in eighth with a mark of 1.92 meters.

Sophomore Jacob Armbrust (Metamora, Illinois) finished third in the shot put (15.77 meters) and won the discus throw (51.92 meters). Chris Aschemann (Carterville, Illinois) came in seventh in the shot put (14.68 meters) and fourth in the discus (46.80 meters). Senior Seth Wonch (Olathe, Kansas) finished sixth in the hammer throw with a mark of 48.61. Senior Marcus Reynolds (Green Bay, Wisconsin) competed in the javelin throw with a mark of 50.67 meters, finishing fourth.

ONU will be back in action Friday, May 16, at the Augie Twilight hosted by Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, starting at 4 p.m.
