LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Olivet Nazarene University softball team finished the 2012 season with an impressive overall record of 54-9, proving they can get things done on the field. More impressive is the way they get things done in the classroom. The National Fast Pitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced on Monday, Oct. 22 that the Tigers rank 9th in the NAIA in the 2012 Top 10 All-Academic Team Rankings.
Olivet finished the 2011-2012 academic school year with a combined team GPA of 3.424. The Tigers had six players recognized on the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference All-Academic team and four NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
The competition was tight as the difference from the top NAIA school to the 10th was only .166. Rounding out the top ten were Spring Arbor University (3.586), University of Saint Mary (3.549), Bethel College (3.534), Mount Marty College (3.489), Central Methodist University (3.480), Davenport University (3.455), William Carey University (3.443), Bethel University (3.430), Olivet Nazarene University (3.424) and Madonna University (3.420).
