BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – In an effort to get the youth of the area passionate about softball, the Olivet Nazarene University softball team, in conjunction with the Bradley-Bourbonnais Youth Softball League (BBYSL), held a clinic on Saturday, Feb. 2.
The volunteer opportunity gave the Tigers a chance to get out in the community and share their dedication to the game with the youth of Kankakee County. The idea of the clinic, open to all players who had signed up for the summer league, was primarily to work on fundamentals of the game.
Approximately 100 girls attended the two-hour clinic. The Tigers ran drills to work on infield, outfield, throwing, pitching and hitting. Despite a minor injury or two, the morning was deemed a success by all in attendance.
