Gardner repeats as CCAC Player of the Week

CHICAGO – Junior Hannah Gardner (Frankfort, Ill.) has been named Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season. This time the recognition comes for her performance for the week of April 14-21.
Gardner helped the No. 16 Olivet Nazarene University softball team to a 6-0 week, improving the Tigers to 36-4 overall record. Her week was highlighted by a walk-off grand slam in game one in CCAC action against Judson University (Ill.) on Tuesday, April 16. The home run, her third on the season, put the Tigers up 8-0.
On the week, Gardner went 12-for-19 (.632) at the plate with 12 RBIs. Four of her 12 hits were for extra bases; three doubles and one home run, giving her a slugging percentage of .947.
Gardner and the Tigers will face-off against No. 13 Saint Xavier University (Ill.) on Wednesday, April 25 at 3:00 p.m. in Chicago. The Cougars are the only unbeaten team in the CCAC, with the Tigers just one game back.
