COLUMBUS, Ga. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced on Wednesday, May 29 that 286 softball student-athletes have been named 2013 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. No. 14 Olivet Nazarene University was represented by senior Bethany Holaway (Wheaton, Ill.) and junior Cheryl Sendzik (Frankfort, Ill.).
Holaway, an outfielder, graduated on May 4 with a degree in psychology. During her four-year career, she maintained a 3.767 grade point average. Sendzik, an infielder, carries a 3.896 GPA in multimedia studies.
In order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.
