BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Coach Ritchie Richardson and the Olivet Nazarene University softball team are pleased to announce that Haley Beno, a senior at St. Charles East High School, has signed a letter of intent to continue her education and playing career as a Tiger. Beno will join the team for the 2015 season.
“I chose Olivet because of the fantastic campus, the great academic opportunities and the quality softball program,” said Beno of her decision to attend Olivet.
Beno helped lead St. Charles East to a 23-5 record and an IHSA Runner-Up finish in 2013. She pitched every inning in the playoffs for the Saints. For her efforts, she was recognized as an Upstate Eight All-Conference First Team honoree. She was also named to the Kane County Chronicle All-Area Team in 2013, as well as Academic All-UEC.
In the summer, Beno plays for the Wasco Diamonds 18U Gold team. She led the Diamonds with a 2.08 ERA.
Beno is undecided on what she will major in while at Olivet. She is the daughter of Fred and Lisa Beno.
