JOLIET, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University volleyball team struggled to put things together against the University of St. Francis (Ill.) in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference play Tuesday, Sept. 11 as they fell in straight sets, 25-17, 25-11,25-23.

The Tigers (2-8, 1-2) had hoped to ride the momentum from their win last week against Purdue University-North Central after a rough start against nationally ranked teams, but St. Francis was too much for them to handle.

Olivet was led by freshman Becky DeRuiter (Chicago Ridge, Ill.) with 12 kills, while senior Carolyn Goettsch (Utica, Mich.) added six. Sophomore libero Haley Hatalla (Manteno, Ill.) finished the night with 11 digs.

Olivet will host the Homestead/Holiday Inn Express Invite Sept. 14-15 starting at 11 a.m. The Tigers will face No. 24 Indiana University-East at 3 p.m. on Friday and No. 25 Georgetown College (Ky.) at 7. Saturday, the Tigers will face Campbellsville University (Ky.) at 9:30 a.m. and Viterbo University (Wis.) at 5:30 p.m.
