Tigers dominate on Senior Night

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – In their last time to play a match in McHie Arena, seniors Katherine Hozian (Elk Grove Village, Ill.) and Carolyn Goettsch (Utica, Mich.) made the most of it. The co-captains helped lead the Olivet Nazarene University volleyball team to an impressive three-set sweep of visiting Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) on Tuesday, Oct. 30 in front of their parents and loyal fans. The Tigers made quick work of the Crimson Wave, winning 25-9, 25-16, 25-18.
Hozian finished the night with 11 kills in 23 attempts with just one error for an attack percentage of .435. She also added an assist and five digs. Goettsch busted out a season-high seven blocks, while adding 12 kills in 28 attempts for a .321 attack percentage.
Freshman setter Renee Enz (Wilmington, Ill.) dished out 31 assists, while adding 11 digs. Sophomore libero Haley Hatalla (Manteno, Ill.) added another 13 digs. The Tiger hitters finished the night with a combined attack percentage of .359, 47 kills in 103 attempts with just 10 errors.
Olivet (11-27, 10-9) finished Chicagoland College Athletic Conference play in third place in the South Division. The Tigers will advance to the conference tournament which begins on Tuesday, Nov. 6. Seedings and brackets will be released by the conference later this week.
