CCAC honors for three volleyball standouts

 CHICAGO – Three Olivet Nazarene University volleyball players were recognized for their efforts on Saturday, Nov. 10 when the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced their All-Conference selections. Senior Katherine Hozian received First Team honors, while senior Carolyn Goettsch and sophomore Haley Hatalla received Second Team honors.

Hozian, an outside hitter from Elk Grove Village, Ill., finished the year with leading the Tigers with 379 kills. She averaged 2.89 kills per set on the season with a team leading .208 attack percentage. She also added 30 42 blocks and was fifth on the team with 259 digs.

Hatalla, a libero from Manteno, Ill., lead the Tigers with 539 digs, averaging 3.88 per set. She finished the season with a passing percentage of .949, making just 41 passing errors in 805 attempts.

Goettsch, a middle hitter from Utica, Mich., finished the season with 282 kills with 99 errors for an attack percentage of .248. She led the Tigers in total blocks with 95, 13 of which were solo blocks. She also added 26 service aces.
