LANSING, Ill. – Leah Lagestee, a senior at Thornton Fractional South High School, has signed a letter of intent to continue her education and volleyball playing career at Olivet Nazarene University. Lagestee become the first 2014 signee for Coach Brenda Williams and the Tigers.
“I chose Olivet because it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up,” said Lagestee of her decision. “ONU is a huge blessing to me. It has great Christian background and a beautiful campus. I loved the volleyball program and immediately felt like I’ve been playing there for a while.”
As a junior, the 5-10 middle blocker was named All-South Suburban Conference, All-Area and to the South Town Star Newspaper All-Star team. In the off-season, she is a member of the Chicago Juniors Volleyball Club.
“Leah is full of energy and great college potential,” said Williams. “We love the fun personality she brings to the team along with a strong work ethic. She is very quick and very athletic. We see Leah being a great fit for Olivet and she is also the step-sister of our own Dana Clausing.”
A four-year honor roll with distinction member, Lagestee is undecided as to her major at Olivet. She is the daughter of Paul and Kristin Lagestee.
