Fighting Saints avenge earlier loss to Tigers;Olivet falls in straight sets

JOLIET, Ill. – Avenging a loss from earlier in the season, the University of St. Francis volleyball team made quick work of the Tigers in a straight-set (16-25, 21-25, 19-25) Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup on Tuesday, Oct. 29. The loss drops Olivet down to a tie for third place in the South Division with Indiana University-South Bend.
The Tigers (18-18, 11-4) finished the match with just 27 kills to the Fighting Saints 46. Junior Kaia Lenzi (Beach Park, Ill.) led the team with six, while senior McKenzie Thompson (Plano, Texas) and junior Heidi Schoenbein (Morton, Ill.) each added five. Lenzi and senior Katelyn Miller (Avon, Ind.) each contributed three blocks.
The setting combination of sophomore Renee Enz (Wilmington, Ill.) and freshman Katie Tabisz (Lockport, Ill.) each finished with nine assists. Tabisz also added 15 digs.
Olivet will return to action on Thursday, Oct. 31 at 7:00 p.m. at Purdue University-Calumet.
