Tigerball tunes up in opening exhibition

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – With McHie Arena at near capacity, the No. 13 Olivet Nazarene University women’s basketball team made quick and easy work of visiting Lincoln Trail College (Ill.) in an exhibition game in front of the Homecoming crowd. The Tigers walked away with a 109-45 victory.
Junior Liz Bart (Cary, Ill.) stepped up and showed that she is ready to lead the Tigers back to the NAIA National Tournament that they made an early exit from a year ago. Bart finished the night with a game-high 21 points, connecting on 5-of-10 three-pointers and 8-of-13 field goals. She also added three rebounds.
Freshmen Krystal James (Rockford, Ill.) and Cortney Allenbaugh (Mortin, Ill.) started their Tiger career off to a great start. James finished with 11 points and six rebounds, including a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line. Allenbaugh pulled in a team-high 12 rebounds. Both ended the game with four steals. Sophomore Ashley Wilson (Portage, Mich.) added 10 points.
Olivet will open Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference play with its first official game on Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 5:30p.m. at Trinity International University (Ill.).
