Wilberforce no match for Olivet

 BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Sophomore Tai Peachey (Galesburg, Ill.) had a career night to help the No. 12 Olivet Nazarene University women’s basketball team down Wilberforce University (Ohio) on opening night of the Holiday Inn Express Classic. The Tiger’s proved to be dominating, downing the Bulldogs 124-77.

Peachey finished the night with a career-high 14 points, highlighted by a perfect 3-of-3 in field goal shooting, 1-of-1 behind the arch and 7-of-7 from the free throw line. She also pulled in a career-high five rebounds, while dishing out four assists and adding two steals.

Sophomore Ashley Wilson (Portage, Mich.) continues to be hot from the field, finishing 8-of-9 with a team high 19 points. Junior Malory Adams (Aurora, Ill.) ended the night with 12 points, including four three-pointers. Senior Danielle Tolbert (Pontiac, Mich.) and junior Liz Bart (Cary, Ill.) finished with 14 and 13 points, repectively.

Junior Miranda Geever (Moline, Ill.) ended the night with a career-high eight assists, while adding five points and a steal. Sophomore Bridgette Jones (Seymour, Ind.) tied her career-high four steals and finished with six rebounds and three points. Tolbert and sophomore Dakota Hack also contributed four steals each.

The Tigers return to action at 3p.m. today taking on St. Catharine College (Ky.). St. Catharine narrowly defeated Robert Morris University (Ill.) in the kickoff of the Classic, 69-68 in a game that went down to the wire.
