Bart scores 25 to lead Tigers past Saints

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. –Junior Liz Bart (Cary, Ill.) posted a career-high 25 points to lead the No. 16 Olivet Nazarene University to a 113-102 win over the University of Saint Francis (Ill.) in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) action on Saturday, February 16. The win puts the Tigers in a four-way tie for second place in the final CCAC standings; however they will enter the post-season tournament as the fifth seed based on the tie breaking by-laws.
Bart finished the day shooting 6-of-13 from behind the three-point line and 9-of-16 overall. Sophomore Ashley Wilson (Portage, Mich) added 19 points and had a team-high eight rebounds. The Tigers stole the ball a total of 35 times, led by junior Taylor Haymes (Wentzville, Mo.) with six, while steals and senior Danielle Tolbert (Pontiac, Mich.) added five. Tolbert also contributed 15 points and five steals to the winning effort.
Roosevelt University (Ill.) captured the CCAC regular season title with a win over Purdue University-Calumet (Ind.) and earned the automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament. A second automatic bid will be awarded to the winner of the CCAC Tournament. No. 5 seeded Olivet (22-7, 17-5) will open tournament play at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 18 at home against No. 12 seeded Trinity Christian College (Ill.). The winner will travel to No. 2 seed Purdue-Calumet on Wednesday. The remainder of the tournament will be played at the home of the higher-seeded team. The championship game is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 23.
The Tigers have faced the Trolls twice this season, winning 93-44 at home on Nov. 28 and 103-47 on the road on Jan. 26.
