PUEBLO, Colo. – Olivet Nazarene University women’s basketball is pleased to announce the addition of Holly Carter, a 5-8 point guard, to the Tigerball roster for the 2013-14 season. Carter comes to Olivet from Otero Junior College in La Junta, Colo.
“We are excited to have Holly join our team next year. Not only does she give us some versatility in that she can play the point or wing position but she is also a fantastic person,” said head coach Lauren Stamatis. “She is exactly the type of person we want on our team. We can’t wait to have her here with us next year to see how she continues to grow as a player and person.”
Carter helped Otero to a 17-11 season and was named OJC Player of the Week for the week ending January 31. Carter averaged 6.4 points per game for the Lady Rattlers, while dishing out 3.1 assists per game.
“When I visited Olivet I not only learned about their great academic programs and teachers, but I met some amazing people,” said Carter of her decision to transfer. “I am so excited to be a part of such a loving and successful team. I have no doubt that I am going to love this school, the people and this experience. I am so blessed to have this opportunity.”
