Bourbonnais, Ill. — After a great win against Roosevelt University, the Olivet Nazarene University women's basketball team looked to keep foot on the peddle against Trinity Christian College on Thursday, Jan 30. That is exactly what the Tigers did, winning 105-77. By getting a first half 57-35 lead, the Tigers put the Trolls in their rearview mirror and never looked back.
Olivet (16-7, 9-2) was led by senior Miranda Geever (Moline, Ill.), who tallied 17 points, a team-high seven assists, six rebounds, and a team-high four steals. She was followed by four other players in double figures: senior Liz Bart (Cary, Ill.) with 17 points, sophomore Holly Carter (Pueblo, Colo.) recorded 15 points, sophomore Cortney Allenbaugh (Morton, Ill.) had 14 points and a team-high nine rebounds, and freshman Carlee Nicolas (Momence, Ill.) added 11 points. The Tigers will travel to Hammond, Indiana to face No. 21 Purdue University-Calumet in a huge CCAC match-up on Saturday, Feb. 1. Purdue-Calumet is currently 10-1 in the CCAC standings, right in front of Olivet, who are 9-2 in the CCAC standings. The Tigers have lost two of the last three meetings with Peregrines. The Tigers won the first meeting at home on Jan. 1, 2013, 108-100, but lost at Purdue-Calumet on Feb. 13, 2013, 113-121 and on Feb. 20, 2013, 99-112 at the CCAC Tournament in Bourbonnais, Ill.
