MAHOMET, Ill. – Mahomet-Seymour High School standout, Maggie
Schmidt, has signed a letter of intent to continue her education and playing
career at Olivet Nazarene University. Schmidt will join the women’s basketball
team in the fall of 2014.
Schmidt, a 5-10 forward, was named Honorable Mention
All-IHSA as a senior. She was also named Cornbelt Conference 1st Team
and 1st Team All-Area. The team captain averaged 15.2 points per
game, while pulling down 7.8 rebounds. She also averaged 4.0 assists per game
and 2.5 steals.
“It’s a great Christian campus with very welcoming people,”
said Schmidt of her decision to attend Olivet. “The location is great and the
scholarships were a nice bonus. I love the coaches and can’t wit to get to know
the team better.”
Schmidt plans to major in architectural engineering while at
