MAHOMET, Ill. – Mahomet-Seymour High School standout, Maggie Schmidt, has signed a letter of intent to continue her education and playing career at Olivet Nazarene University. Schmidt will join the women’s basketball team in the fall of 2014.

Schmidt, a 5-10 forward, was named Honorable Mention All-IHSA as a senior. She was also named Cornbelt Conference 1st Team and 1st Team All-Area. The team captain averaged 15.2 points per game, while pulling down 7.8 rebounds. She also averaged 4.0 assists per game and 2.5 steals.

“It’s a great Christian campus with very welcoming people,” said Schmidt of her decision to attend Olivet. “The location is great and the scholarships were a nice bonus. I love the coaches and can’t wit to get to know the team better.”

Schmidt plans to major in architectural engineering while at Olivet. She is the daughter of John and Jacki Schmidt and sister to Olivia and Carter.
