Olivet repeats at Intercollegiate Championship

NORMAL, Ill. – The No. 3 Olivet Nazarene University women’s cross country team repeated as team champions of the Illinois Intercollegiate Championship held at Illinois State University on Friday, Sept. 14.
The Tigers shaved 19 seconds off of their team time from a week ago, with the top five finishers averaging 18:38:11. The University of Chicago was more than three seconds behind, taking second place. Illinois Wesleyan, Augustana College (Ill.) and the University of St. Francis (Ill.) rounded out the top five team finishers in the field of 24.
Senior Kortney Ellingboe (Hamilton, Ill.) was the top finisher for Olivet, coming in third place overall with a time of 18:03. Senior Hannah Endrizzi, a Normal native, posted a season-best time in her hometown finishing sixth overall with a time of 18:38.
Juniors Leah Livingston (Gibson City, Ill.) finished 12th and Chantalle Falconer (Byron, Ill.) right behind in 13th place, coming in at 18:44 and 18:45 respectively. Freshman Kathryn Dean (Lindenhurst, Ill.) finished out Olivet’s top five finishing in 16th place with a time of 19:03.
Olivet will travel to Rock Island, Ill. to compete in the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational hosted by Augustana College at the Saukie Golf Course on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 5p.m.
