Olivet crowds award stand

CHANNAHON, Ill. – No. 4 Olivet Nazarene University was well represented on the awards stand on Saturday, Nov. 3 at the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Championships as nine Tiger were recognized for their performances.
Freshman Kathryn Dean (Lindenhurst, Ill.) not only earned a spot on the all-conference team, she was also named CCAC Freshman of the Year after placing as the top freshman in the 115-person field on Saturday. She recorded a time of 17:38.30 to place fourth overall, a personal best 5K time.
Under the direction of CCAC Coach of the Year Mike McDowell, a total of eight Tigers runners earned all-conference status. The Tiger’s top five runners finished in the top ten en route to claiming the program's third straight CCAC title.
Joining Dean on the stand were seniors Samantha Clark (West Dundee, Ill.), Kortney Ellingboe (Hamilton, Ill.), Hannah Endrizzi (Normal, Ill.) and juniors Chantalle Falconer (Byron, Ill.), Leah Livingston (Gibson City, Ill.), Janina Roche (Crete, Ill.) and Christy Trank (Winnebago, Ill.). Ellingboe was the Tiger’s top finisher of the meet, finishing in third place overall with a time of 17:35.59. Falconer finished in fifth place overall recording a personal best time of 17:41.45.
The Tigers earned the conferences automatic bid to the NAIA National Championships which will be held Nov. 17 in Vancouver, Washington.
